Caption Contest Winner: Ugh, Our Library Is Such a Dump

Last week, we asked our readers to submit possible captions for this photo:

On Friday, you voted on the finalists, and now it’s time to announce the winner of our most recent caption contest….

Without further ado, here’s our winning caption:

Having catalogued the total number of volumes, microfilm, microfiche, and titles, this dumpster is hereby accredited.

– ABA

Is anyone really surprised that this caption was our winner? Come on, it had the highest number of Disqus “likes” before the voting even started.

And here’s the page-turning backstory on this epic waste of paper. This photo was taken in front of St. John’s University School of Law last week. I guess they figured that if the school’s going to be a defendant in a class action lawsuit, they better start chucking some of their assets.

Thanks to everyone for suggesting comments and for voting. If you wrote the winning caption… aw, screw it. We’re feeling a little bit like the ABA today, so we’re going to accredit the top three caption finalists, which also include:

WARNING: Any recent graduates observed stealing books will be reported to US News as “employed as research assistants.”

The newest category in the Cooley rankings: Cubic footage of exterior library annex.

Top three, please email us to claim your prize (an ATL t-shirt). Thanks again, and congrats.
