Announcing the 2012 Bar Review Diaries Contest!

We want YOU to be the next Above theLaw bar diarist…

Well, it’s that time of year again. Where 3Ls don gowns, walk down the long carpeted aisle, take photos with their families, get drunk, and then a few days later arise from massive hangovers… and head straight to the library to study for bar exams for the next three months.

But Above the Law — along with our sponsors at Themis Bar Review — want to help. That’s why we are holding our second annual Bar Review Diaries contest. Our three contest winners will receive free bar prep from Themis, as well as the opportunity to earn fame and fortune (or, fame at least) blogging about their experiences studying for the bar on the pages of Above the Law.

Sweet deal, right? For contest rules and entry instructions, keep reading…

To enter the contest, all you have to do is submit an essay of 250 words or less explaining why you should be selected. Entries should be emailed to bardiaries@themisbar.com. (Please do not send application emails to the ATL tips inbox.)

Entries are due: Friday, May 4, 11:59 PM (EST).

Our three winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 16. Again, winners will receive a free bar review course from Themis in any available jurisdiction, in addition to the summer blogging spot right here.

If you’re interested in entering, the first thing you should do is take a look at last year’s diarists. Winners will be free to write however they choose. Be serious, funny, existentially depressing — it is all fair game. As always, just don’t be boring! The Bar Review Diaries columns will appear twice weekly, and they will be edited by yours truly.

So, before you get your summer study on, get your blogging on and apply.

Disclosure: This series is sponsored by Themis, which is an ATL advertiser.
