It's February Bar Exam Results Season Already?

Ah, the February Bar; the exam where people who failed the July Bar go to redeem themselves or perish. It feels too early to start waiting for the results of this dreaded test, but apparently it's already time for them to start trickling in....

For some of these February Bar takers, even Cory Booker couldn’t save them. But there is a lot to be said for getting back up on the horse on and trying again.

Especially if you live in a state which either has a supremely difficult bar exam or woeful legal education. I just got back from a trip down the Mississippi, and evidently the gators ate everybody’s Bar/Bri books….

A tipster tells us that he, miraculously, passed the Louisiana Bar. Not nearly enough of his friends can say the same thing. Here’s the LSAC report on Louisiana pass rates, broken down by school:

Don’t blame it on the Hurricanes, Louisiana legal educators. These results are just unacceptable. You can’t take these people’s money, and not prepare them to pass the bar. Freaking Leonardo DiCaprio passed the Louisiana bar exam.

Then again, I spent five days in New Orleans, and by the end of it I thought “law” was something that could be stuffed with crawfish. New Orleans is one of the best places on Earth. If you have to be poor and unable to pass an entrance exam, Louisiana might be the best place to do it.
