SCOTUS Clerkship Application FAIL

An anonymous law student has a nauseating personal encounter with Justice Scalia. Literally…

It is the dream of many a young attorney to appear in front of the Supreme Court of the United States and argue the most important legal cases of the day.

To achieve career success like that of, say, Carter Phillips, who has argued dozens of cases in front of the nine, is a lofty aspiration, to say the least.

But there are other ways of appearing in front of a Supreme Court justice that might leave you with the bitter taste of bile in your mouth. At least one law student knows what we mean by that, quite literally….

A few days ago, someone submitted the following message to Texts from Last Night:

Went to an open-bar law school party and puked in front of Justice Scalia. My legal career is now complete — I literally got judged by a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Can’t get any higher than that.

Ouch. Some liberals find Scalia’s opinions vomitous — but dude, if you want to protest, start a blog or write a letter. Don’t puke on his shoes.

Also, one wonders what the justice was doing at a party filled with law students who were getting this blotto. Or maybe, despite the open bar, it had been a pleasant, polite event until Drunky McPukerson showed up.

I would love to know how Scalia reacted to this ultimate networking fail. Did he launch into an impromptu lecture about the production of alcohol in the 1700s?

If any of our readers have any details about this apparently crazy party, please share them in the comments (but please, do not use any names, so that we may protect the innocent hung over).
