Lawyer Who Lusted After Madonna Tickets Gets Slammed In Employee's Epic Departure Memo

When somebody who knows where the bodies are buried quits, hilarity ensues...

I’ve pasted the emails in chronological order. The other players (in addition to Peggy Olson and DeMayo) have been nicknamed “The B in Apartment 23” and “The Handler.” (These pseudonyms are somewhat random and whimsical; please don’t read anything into them.)

Call WSOC tell they need to get me 6 front row. Back stage or press passes. Other lawyers who spend what we spend get whatever they want trips shows. Tell them I will be calling on them in future for other shows and I expect them to be my connection. Tell them Mr Demayo will be considering his buys in the future with this element as a consideration. Call Sales manager. Actually call every station and put them on notice my expectations have changed

By the way I am not crazy about Madonna.. But we are going to test these stations and get them retrained. My other lawyer friends say I should be able to go to anything and be in the front row and that they should be thrilled to do this for me as one of their premier customers.. I agree. The stations have gotten a pass so far sending us their hand me downs…

I hear you and completely understand. I do think [The B in Apartment 23] would have the strongest influence on them regarding this discussion as she is in the process of negotiating with all of the stations right now. And, she has very good relationships with the reps. She also has enough of that “New York” in your face quality to help them understand that this is important. Not that I don’t think [Peggy Olson] can do it, I would like for [The B in Apartment 23] to lead the charge on this.

OK by you?

Hi Michael,

I’ve heard back from WAXN/WSOC on your request for Madonna tickets. The sales managers from both stations have been working together to try to fulfill your request and here’s what they were able to come up with.

They have 4 tickets in what is called the Royal Box. It is not a suite but a group of private seats. I’ve indicated it’s location on the attached seating chart. I know it is not exactly what you want but this is the best they could come up with. Please let me know if you are interested in these seats as they will need to purchase them quickly before they are sold to the general public.

I have spoken to the other stations in the market regarding the tickets but am not sure what they will come up with. I have also let everyone know your expectations going forward.

Please let me know asap if you would like these tickets.

Thank you,
The B in Apartment 23

Not remotely interested in those seats. I said premier seats.

Tell them I can do much better on my own with floor seats with one five minute phone call. Really? I am not impressed. No thank you.

If this is the best they can do tell them they really need to raise the bar.

I am not really sure who they think they are dealing with but if it is not the best or first class honestly I will never be interested or impressed.

Tell them to review what I spent last year and see how much of that they want to see this year.
