Position: “Patent Counsel – IP” for international generic pharmaceutical company with U.S. headquarters in central New Jersey.

Leading international generic pharmaceutical company, with U.S. headquarters in central New Jersey seeks a “Patent Counsel – IP” with at least 4 years chemical/pharmaceutical patent prosecution and knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, either generic or proprietary.

Requirements: JD, Bachelors of Science in organic chemistry, biochemistry or biotechnology (advanced degree preferred), and admission to USPTO.

Responsibilities include: Drafting and prosecuting chemical and pharmaceutical patents mainly with the USPTO; work with foreign agents on global patent filing/prosecution; freedom-to-operate opinions on active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products; opportunity for wide range of U.S., Canadian and other foreign patent matters, including ANDAs, Hatch-Waxman, patent litigation management and supervision in applicable countries/regions, due diligence on in- and out-licensed products with third parties.
