University of Miami 2Ls Will Get 'Waiver' To Offset Tuition Hikes

Miami 2Ls will not have to pay a tuition hike, because the Dean promised them they wouldn't...

UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI SCHOOL OF LAW — DEAN PATRICIA WHITE — TUITION WAIVER

Subject: Fall Tuition Bills

The Office of Student Account Services will be releasing Fall Tuition bills on MyUM later this week. Full-time tuition for your class increased by 4%, as it did for continuing students throughout most of the University. However, you will note that your bill for the fall semester includes a Law School Tuition Waiver for $775.00 which will appear as a Law School Tuition Scholarship. This waiver represents the amount of the posted fall semester tuition increase for full-time students in your entering class. By this means, we are honoring the statement that I made to admitted students at the Law Day for Admitted Students event on March 25, 2011 that “I have not raised tuition in two years for ongoing students and if you come here I won’t raise it once you get here.” Your second semester bill will show a similar waiver. This award is also reflected under Current Awards on MyUM’s Financial Aid section.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
