According to a news release, only 55.3 percent of applicants passed the test, while the passing rate for first-time takers was 68 percent. The pass rate for all repeaters was 18 percent — which is pretty scary. As promised, here are some interesting statistics from this summer’s administration of the exam:

Yikes! It certainly seems like those who had the privilege of attending ABA-accredited law schools — both in-state and out-of-state — had an advantage going into this three-day beast of an exam. It’ll be really entertaining to see the pass rates for individual law schools when that data is made available in a few weeks.

Once again, congratulations from all of us here at Above the Law to everyone who passed. If you didn’t, don’t worry, there’s always February. Feel free to celebrate your good news or bemoan your failure in the comments.
