Caption Contest Winner: C Is For Courtroom (And Cookies, Of Course)

Who won our newest Caption Contest? It's quite delicious....

Last week, we asked readers to submit possible captions for this photo:

Earlier this week, you voted on the finalists, and now it’s time to announce the winner of our caption contest….

But first, as is customary with our caption contests, we’ll provide the backstory behind this picture. As a few commenters figured from the flag in the background, it comes to us from down in Texas. Bexar County Judge Wayne Christian was all dressed up on Halloween. Why? Because he felt like it, we imagine. Here’s what our tipster wrote:

The pictures [we received more than one image in our tips email] are being traded amongst my friends from law school. The local courthouse beat reporter in San Antonio had them tweeted to him by a 3L who was in court, and we follow the beat writer’s Twitter feed (@HearsaySA). There was also a buzz going on around downtown that Judge Christian was dressed up.

Judge Christian is a local guy. Went to college and law school in San Antonio and occasionally fills in as a trial advocacy lecturer at the school.

Anyway, here are some links: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/wayne-christian/42/422/907 and http://www.bexar.org/judges/CountyCourt06.html.

National intercollegiate trap & skeet championship team in college. Not too shabby. Conjures images of a gun toting Cookie Monster. It IS Texas, after all.

This is why Texas is awesome — maybe a bit deranged, but in a good way (sometimes, at least). Anyway, here’s the winning caption:

Coo-kie Monster rule that Pursuant to Best Evidence Rule, no enter photocopy of coo-kie at issue into evidence. Must be real coo-kie. No need pre-mark, just give to Coo-kie Monster.
