Judge of the Day: Calling An Idiot An Idiot
This is what happens when you don't wait patiently for a school bus.
We’ve covered odd judicial penalties now and again, and there’s a legitimate debate as to the appropriateness of public humiliation as a legal remedy for wrongdoing.
Or, as we see next week in Cleveland, a woman forced to wear an “idiot” sign on the corner where she was caught busting some Crazy Taxi moves — in order to get around a school bus filled with children.
And of course, we have video of this gonzo driver, so you can see for yourself if her punishment was warranted….
The Business Case For AI At Your Law Firm
Our creative Judge of the Day isn’t even named in this ABC5 story, but you might say the real hero is Otto Mann, err, Uriah Herron, a local bus driver. He caught Shena Hardin pulling the following stunt on video (gavel bang: Reddit):
The judge sentenced Hardin to pay $250 in court costs and suspended her license for 30 days and more.
Hardin must also stand at the intersection of E. 38th Street and Payne Avenue wearing a sign next Tuesday and Wednesday that says “Only an idiot drives on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus.” She has been ordered to wear the sign from 7:45 a.m.
Apparently, Hardin pulled this stunt on a daily basis, Herron told the news station. Thank God for cell phone cameras, and the clip’s awesome narration and cheering children. Check it out:

I don’t blame Hardin for getting impatient waiting for the bus. It is annoying, and we’ve all been there. But patience is a virtue, and apparently it’s directly correlated with maintaining your dignity.
