Last week, we asked readers to submit possible captions for this photo:
On Monday, you voted on the finalists, and now it’s time to announce the winner of our caption contest….
As is customary with our caption contests, we will now reveal the backstory behind the picture. The photo was taken in the Fordham Law library this past December during finals season. Here’s what a tipster had to say:
The girl behind the cubicle had it up for several hours, probably almost a whole afternoon. I believe it was on a weekend and there were many, many open cubicles, both on that stack as well as on others, so it’s unclear why she didn’t just use one of those. Other people were just as dumbfounded, curious, and speculative, and also took pictures. No one really knows what her inspiration was, why she chose cardboard, or where she got it. I believe on several occasions, the same girl has yelled at people in the library for being too noisy.
Watch out, everyone, because it looks like Fordham Law may have a crazy cat lady in the making who’s taking up residence in the library. Have fun with that during finals! Without further ado, here’s the winning caption:
She’s not studying, she’s beginning construction on her post-graduation housing.
Thanks to everyone for suggesting comments and for voting. If you wrote the winning caption, feel free to email us, subject line “Caption Contest Winner,” to claim your prize (an ATL t-shirt).
