FINNEGAN, HENDERSON, FARABOW, GARRETT & DUNNER, LLP — STATEMENT ON DEPARTURES

Some lawyers from Finnegan’s trademark group are leaving to start their own firm. They are Stephanie H. Bald, Lynn M. Jordan, David M. Kelly, Robert D. Litowitz, and Linda K. McLeod. The date of their departure from Finnegan has not yet been determined. Finnegan managing partner Barbara C. McCurdy stated, “we wish them the best of luck with their new venture,” adding, “they have many friends at Finnegan who will miss them.”

Finnegan has one of the largest full-service trademark practices in the world, representing many leading global brands. Finnegan’s trademark group is consistently ranked among top U.S. trademark practices. Last month, Managing Intellectual Property recognized Finnegan as the number one trademark litigation firm in the United States. This award followed on the heels of nine of the group’s partners being recognized by World Trademark Review as leading lawyers for contentious and non-contentious trademark work, including Danny M. Awdeh, B. Brett Heavner, Jonathan M. Gelchinsky, Christie Baty Hudgins, Julia Anne Matheson, Douglas A. Rettew, and Mark Sommers. Earlier in the year, the group’s leader Doug (Chip) Rettew received International Law Office’s and Lexology’s Client Choice Award for excellent client service in the area of trademarks.
