Law License Plates: Constitutional Conundrums

Of course lawyers from the D.C. area are touting constitutional theories on their license plates.

After a year-long break, we returned to law-related vanity license plates about a week ago. You heeded our call for submissions, and while we’ve been overrun with them, we’re always looking for more photos. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what some of the lawyers in our nation’s capital have displayed on their vanity plates. Unlike some of the submissions we’ve spoken about in the past, these plates aren’t direct invitations to get rear-ended, but that’s only because they’re too cryptic for laypeople to understand.

Get ready for some constitutional law nerd action….

Of course the guy with the Ninth Amendment plates has a Ron Paul bumper sticker. Silly libertarian.

This car was seen across the street from the Supreme Court. This Porsche owner cites Federalist No. 51 on his plates; perhaps he thinks we should leave those nine unelected people alone. What would Justice Kennedy say? Remember: “Ambition must be made to counteract ambition.”
