Caption Contest Winner: Choose Your Own Bar Exam Adventure

This is perhaps one of our of most ironic caption contests ever, and it's time to see who won.

Last week, we asked readers to submit possible captions for this photo:

On Monday, you voted on the finalists, and now it’s time to announce our caption contest winner…

As is customary with our caption contests, we will now reveal the backstory behind the picture. As some of you guessed, this photo was taken at the UC Berkeley International House. This is the beautiful room where the graduates of Boalt Hall get to watch their BARBRI lectures. Not too shabby!

That ought to make bar review a little less painful. Or not. Either way, it appears that our very own Joe Patrice had the caption with the most votes:

“…you selected to turn to page 85. You wake up with your head on your desk, having not gone home for 4 days. A partner is yelling at you about billable hours from the doorway as the phone rings. It’s Sallie Mae asking where their money is. As you draw the letter opener across your veins you remember a sign you once saw in a hotel lobby. THE END.”

Joe’s the official winner of the internet, but to give one of our readers a chance to own an ATL t-shirt, the entry with the second-most votes is our de facto winner:

Thanks to everyone for suggesting captions and for voting. If you wrote the winning caption, feel free to email us, subject line “Caption Contest Winner,” to claim your prize (an ATL t-shirt).
