Seeking Submissions for Our 'Notorious R.B.G.' Competition

Have you got what it takes to impress the Notorious RBG? Show us your stuff!

Last week, an overwhelming percentage of our readers voted for Ruth Bader Ginsburg as their favorite Supreme Court justice. And why shouldn’t they have? RBG is the high court’s second female justice, and she’s been hailed as an advocate for women’s rights since she took the oath in 1993. Not for nothing, but Justice Ginsburg is also a huge hit among pop culture audiences.

We’ll break down her popularity for you: not only is she the wealthiest justice, but she’s also got a bobblehead, a comic book, and a Tumblr blog dedicated to her fierceness and fabulosity.

Why not continue to honor Her Honor with a contest?

If you haven’t seen the Notorious R.B.G. yet, we suggest you take a look for some inspiration for our contest. Here are some examples of what we’re looking for, two of which were created by yours truly, and one that was a runner-up in last year’s lawyer meme competition. Behold the lioness:

To make your own, simply go to QuickMeme, select out or upload the RBG picture or GIF that you like the most, and follow the directions in the Captionater. But, like all of our contests, we’ve got some rules, and you’ll have through the holiday weekend to complete your entries:

  • Your meme must be publicly available online somewhere. Submit it in the comments (the preferred method of entry), or email us the link at tips@abovethelaw.com, with the subject line “RBG Contest Submission.”
  • Send us your submission by SUNDAY, JULY 7, at 11:59 PM (Eastern time).

Once we receive all submissions, the editors here at Above the Law will make a list of our favorites, and post the finalists for our readers’ viewing pleasure. You will choose the funniest RBG meme, and the winner(s) will receive an ATL t-shirt for their efforts.

Best of luck, because you do not want to disappoint the Notorious R.B.G.
