School’s out and so is the sun, so what better time to discuss what is arguably one of the most important aspects of a legal education? Of course, we’re talking about whether or not a law student will be able to have a social life at his or her chosen law school for the next three years.

GraduatePrograms.com recently ranked the top 25 student-rated law schools, as well as the best law schools for career support, financial aid, and quality of network, but we’re focusing on the social life rankings. Why? At this point, it’s a given that you’re going to have some difficulty finding a job and paying down your loans. It’s the connections you make during law school that will help you get through the tough times you’ll face later on.

Let’s find where you can go to law school and party your face off like you’re still in college…

GraduateProgram’s results were based on surveys completed by students (including those currently enrolled and recent graduates) from more than 150 accredited law schools across the United States. The rankings cover a period from September 1, 2012, to April 15, 2014. For the purposes of this category, “social life” is defined as how easy it is for students to meet people, make friends, or date.

You may be trapped in a special law school hell filled with some of the most self-important gunners alive, but it’s comforting to know you may find a school where you’ll be able to drink away your troubles with friends — sometimes with benefits — who are less socially awkward than the rest of your peers.

Where can you study and party at the same time? Here are the top ten law schools for Best Social Life:

2. University of Colorado at Boulder (9.49 stars)

3. University of Texas at Austin (9.46 stars)

4. University of Georgia (9.33 stars)

5. University of Alabama (9.24 stars)

6. Washington University in St. Louis (9.23 stars)

7. University of Virginia (9.19 stars)

8. Northwestern University (9.17 stars)

9. University of Miami (9.15 stars)

10. University of San Francisco (9.14 stars)

The top five is almost the same as last year’s, except UVA got booted in favor of Alabama, and Colorado moved up a spot. You ever study law? You ever study law… on weed?! People at UC Boulder have.

From top to bottom, this list actually makes sense — except for Northwestern. Almost all of the schools’ affiliated undergraduate programs have been considered one of the best party schools in the nation by Princeton Review or Playboy, and if not, their building is named after a brewing company.

All of the gunners on earth would need to unite to suck the awesome out of the air at schools like these.
