We recently asked readers to submit possible captions for this picture:

Now that readers have voted on the finalists, it’s time to announce our worthy winner….

As is customary with our caption contests, we’ll first reveal the backstory behind the picture. The tipster who sent it our way told us the book in question was a constitutional law casebook found in a law review office. So our winning caption is very appropriate:

In 1966, Andy Dufresne escaped from the Law Review office. All they found of him was a dry cleaned OCI suit, a stack of books to cite-check, and an old red pen, damn near worn down to the nub.

It looks like many of you are Shawshank Redemption fans. The film does have some great quotations that arguably summarize the practice of law. Is it like “crawl[ing] through a river of shit and c[oming] out clean on the other side,” or is it “same old s**t, different day”?
