Houston, TX (July 14, 2014): Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP announced today that it is opening an office in Houston led by standout trial lawyer and white collar specialist David Gerger. Gerger joins Quinn Emanuel from Gerger & Clarke, a litigation boutique he founded. Gerger will become managing partner of the new Houston office. He will be joined by Shaun Clarke, who will become Special Counsel and co-chair of the Houston office’s white collar group. Also joining the firm will be Dane Ball, Sammy Khalil and David Isaak, who will be of counsels to the firm.
Gerger is a highly experienced trial lawyer. He is often retained to substitute for or supplement existing counsel in cases that are close to trial. Although Gerger has significant experience in SEC and other civil matters, the primary focus of his practice has always been white collar criminal work, and he has handled prominent matters around the country, from Enron to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

David is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School where he was an editor of the law review. He clerked for Judge Jerre Williams on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and District Judge Harry Lee Hudspeth of the WDTex. David is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been identified as one of the top lawyers in Texas by several ranking organizations.
Shaun Clarke is a graduate of Yale Law School where he also was an editor of the Yale Law Journal. After clerking for District Court Judge Lowell Jensen on the ND Cal, Clarke was an Assistant U.S. Attorney and in private practice in New Orleans before joining Gerger & Clarke.
