Caption Contest Winner: Wherein Law Students Fight Over Politically Incorrect Margin Notes

This just goes to show that law students will fight over just about anything.

Last week, we asked readers to submit possible captions for this picture:

On Thursday, you voted on the finalists, and now it’s time to announce the winner of our contest…

As is customary with our caption contests, we’ll now reveal the backstory behind the picture. A reader sent it to us after viewing it on Imgur, wondering if all law students were like this. After publishing the picture, the book owner contacted us to let us know that “[he] didn’t write either comment but found both when [he] bought the book.” That’s a likely story, my good sir, a very likely story. Previous owner immediately adds “cited in widely circulated legal publication” to his résumé.

Thanks to everyone for suggesting comments and for voting. If you wrote the winning caption, feel free to email us, subject line “Caption Contest Winner,” to claim your prize (an Above the Law t-shirt).
