Casting call for L.A. lawyers who want to be on television. Somebody is putting together a show, and they need a “young attorney” and, well, where else would you find a solid young attorney who wants to be on television than Craigslist?

Check out the ad. It’s the kind of thing that will make you say, “What is this, I don’t even.”

Kicking around Craigslist, Los Angeles right now will lead you to this gem of an opportunity:

Actually, that sounds like almost any entry-level law job if the employer is being honest. At the highest levels, the practice of law is about knowing your stuff and being able to back it up. At the lowest levels, law is about faking it until you make it in front of a judge or client too stupid to know the difference. You want some excellent “reality” viewing? Park your ass in a local criminal court for a day. Bring popcorn.

Where the job reveals itself as a television job as opposed to a law job is in the “on-camera interview” portion. I think we proved earlier today that real lawyers aren’t lookers.

Something tells me that the person who makes the cut will be the kind of “lawyer” who says “I’m a lawyer” a lot. That’ll be a fun shtick until the first commercial break. After that, it’ll be time to go back to scripted television.
