SCOTUS Justices Will Get You Drunk For Christmas

The boozy history of the Supreme Court.

Be sure to add whiskey, brandy and rum before adding milk.

Harry Parker, a Supreme Court messenger for Justice Robert Jackson, who authored the quasi-official Supreme Court eggnog recipe. The recipe was discovered among the papers of Chief Justice Harlan Fiske Stone. Perhaps it was served at a SCOTUS holiday party? Though not one Parker ever attended, because as reported in Morning Docket, the Court did not allow African-American messengers to attend in those days.

As the Supreme Court Brief notes, “A word of caution: this eggnog is sublime, but potent.” The whole recipe is available here.
