Let's Talk Technology And The Law

Join us March 18 for a fun and informative panel discussion about law and technology.

Attorneys are notoriously sluggish when it comes to adopting new technology. But progress marches on, and the legal challenges of tomorrow require lawyers becoming comfortable with the fruits of 21st Century innovation. It’s not just about trusting the new associates to figure out some new toy, like a flashy new document management system.

Lawyers need to understand what clients who live their lives and conduct their business on the Internet really need and what legal pitfalls their net presence creates. They need to understand how to market themselves and interface with netizen clients. And lawyers need to orient their thinking around how to leverage the latest technological advances to provide better lawyering. Every other industry can figure it out, why not lawyers?

Our conversation will feature the following distinguished panelists:

  • Tasha Cooper: President of UpwardAction®, an online reputation management and social marketing consultancy
  • Ryan Lytle: Social projects manager for Mashable
  • Dan Lear: Director of Industry Relations for Avvo
  • Michael C. Schmidt: Vice chair of Cozen O’ Connor’s Labor & Employment Department

It should be a fun and informative discussion.
