This just in: Amal Clooney, a lawyer whose remarkable résumé has been the butt of jokes at her celebrity husband’s expense, has been invited to teach at a New York law school this spring.

Which law school will be flooded with paparazzi thanks to this brainy and beautiful barrister’s presence, and what subject will she be teaching?

Although Amal Clooney is now better known to the public for her marriage to a perpetual bachelor than for her legal work, Columbia University School of Law realized that some Americans care more about what she knows than what she’s wearing, and decided to share her awe-inspiring knowledge of human rights law with its students.

(For the record, Clooney likes to wear Ede and Ravenscroft for her court appearances.)

Clooney, an Oxford graduate who earned her LL.M. from New York University Law School and student clerked for Sonia Sotomayor while the justice was still a judge on the Second Circuit, will lecture on human rights law at Columbia Law this spring while serving as a senior fellow at the law school’s Human Rights Institute. Here’s what Clooney had to say about her law school teaching appointment, per a recent Columbia Law press release:

“It is an honor to be invited as a visiting professor at Columbia Law School alongside such a distinguished faculty and talented student pool,” said [Amal] Clooney. “I look forward to getting to know the next generation of human rights advocates studying here.”
