Judge Thinks Robert Durst Killed A Cat And Left Its Head On Her Doorstep

This is creepy and disgusting. Poor kitty!

It was June 29, 2006. I came home from work about 5 p.m., and you can imagine how hot it was. I saw something on the walk that leads straight to my front door. [I] thought it was a rat at first. But it was a little gray cat that had been cut behind the shoulder. It was a head with its two front legs, cut right behind the shoulders. It was not just thrown there. It was placed there.

I believe it was Robert Durst. I knew this guy had a history of cutting up his dogs.

— Judge Susan Criss, describing the disturbing scene that unfolded at her house three years after she presided over the Morris Black trial, where Robert Durst was acquitted of murder. Judge Criss thinks that Durst left her the mangled cat head as “payback for her testifying against him at a parole hearing.”
