How Biglaw Helps Small Startups: A Conversation With Wilson Sonsini's Adam Dinow

Adam Dinow works with many of the top startups and VCs in New York, including Digital Ocean, Meetup, and Group.me (acquired by Skype). How does he think lawyers and startups can work more effectively together?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve published a number of posts and interviews here on ATL about how lawyers can better work with startups. That decision was fueled, in part, because I have had less than wonderful experiences working with lawyers, and I thought if both sides understood each other a little better, it might just make life better for both sides of the table. Along the way, I discovered that there is a real appetite for this type of content. Over the last month, I have received dozens of emails from readers with follow up questions ranging from “where can I find startup clients” to “should lawyers take equity from startups.”

Well, rather than give you my perspective alone, I decided to bring in startup lawyer extraordinaire, Adam Dinow, who is a partner at Wilson Sonsini. He is also, like me, an NYU Law alum (Go Violets?). Adam works with many of the top startups and VCs in New York, including Digital Ocean, Meetup, and Group.me (acquired by Skype), and I am looking forward to picking his brain about how lawyers and startups can work more effectively together.
