How Would Your Law School's Ranking Change If It Merged With Another Law School?

I don’t think there’s a law school dean who’s been a dean for more than five seconds who will actually try to predict with certainty what the rankings do…. If rankings have merit and are measuring the right things, they should go up.

— Acting Dean Ronald Chen of Rutgers Law-Newark, in response to a question posed by NJ Advance Media as to whether the ranking for a unified Rutgers Law School would go up following the schools’ planned merger, subject to its approval by the American Bar Association. For reference, Rutgers-Newark is currently ranked in a seven-way tie for 87th place by U.S. News, while Rutgers-Camden is ranked in a three-way tie for 102nd place.
