Law Revue Video Contest 2015: The Winner!

Which law school took home the trophy in this year's competition?

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Which law school took home the crown in this year’s Law Revue Video Contest? As usual, we laughed, we cried, and we fielded butthurt comments from everyone in between, but now it’s time to unveil the winner of our competition.

Last year, 18,290 votes were cast, but this time around, a mind-blowing 78,466 votes were cast. There were more votes cast in 2015 than any other law revue contest Above the Law has ever held. The competition was fierce, so awesome job on netting all of those votes.

Due to a polling error (unfortunately, our poll didn’t close on time), it may look like NYU Law took home this year’s trophy, but it was really Columbia Law that won the entire competition. Here’s an email we received from NYU about the results:

When we checked the final vote tally for the ATL Music Video Contest this morning, it became clear to us that voting for NYU continued after the deadline, despite the fact that NYU Law Revue was clear with all of our classmates and friends who wanted to vote for us that they had to do so before the 11:59pm deadline. Based on our tally of the votes around midnight, we lost to Columbia by about 3,000 votes. While we assume that you took note of the final vote count around midnight, we wanted to check in to make sure that the votes for us cast after 11:59pm would not be counted.

Hats off to everyone on the NYU law revue crew for their honesty.

In any event, way to go, Columbia! Your entry totally stole the show this year. Your video was a wonderful exposé on how the Federalist Society wins hearts and minds — through stomachs. Send us your t-shirt sizes (limit five), and an address where to send them, and we’ll get them out to you.

Here’s your winner again:
