O-M-G, Your Honors! 'Valley Girl' Prosecutor Pleases The Court

If this doesn't end the argument in favor of cameras in the courtroom, then nothing will.

May it please the Court. Meet assistant U.S. attorney Ellyn Lindsay of the Central District of California (i.e., a federal prosecutor from Los Angeles). Lindsay recently argued before a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, consisting of Judge Barry G. Silverman, Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw, and Judge Robert D. Sack (visiting from the Second Circuit and sitting by designation).

Lindsay is retiring as an AUSA on August 31, after 30 years of distinguished service. She is pleased about her imminent retirement — and she wasn’t afraid to let it show during her Ninth Circuit argument.

“You’re going to be a YouTube sensation,” Judge Wardlaw told Lindsay. “It’s going to go viral.”

Let’s prove Judge Wardlaw right. Check out the delightful video below; it’s set to start at 6:36, which is when Ellyn’s argument begins, and the first minute is all you need to watch. If you find the clip as amusing and adorable as I do, please share it with your friends. If this doesn’t win the argument in favor of cameras in the courtroom, then nothing will!

P.S. Thanks to “Deep Throat of the West” for sharing this with us!
