Double Stabbing Outside Courthouse -- One Dead, One Injured

Reports of a violent encounter on the courthouse steps overnight.

The Glendale courthouse in Los Angeles County was the scene of a brutal double stabbing last night. Details are sketchy at this time as police are working to figure out what happened at the courthouse overnight.

What we know so far, as reported by the Glendale News Press:

Just before 2 a.m., the injured victim approached the Glendale police station and used the call box to ask dispatchers for help, said Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

Police and paramedics responded right away and found the man, who had been stabbed, lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

Investigators followed the trail of blood to the front of the Glendale courthouse, where a man in his 40s was dead with multiple stab wounds, William said.

Police have yet to interview the injured man, but at this time do not believe any third person was involved. What this has to do with the courthouse is unknown, but very few people set up outside police department headquarters (which is around the corner) to randomly mug people, so something must be up.
