Justice Cooper acted in direct contravention to the best interests of our 2-year-old little boy, and, accordingly, is not fit to make a custody determination at trial. Not only did he purposely turn our son into tabloid fodder, he severely and intentionally harmed our son’s financial well-being.

Anthony Zappin, a former associate at Mintz Levin, complaining to Law360 about Justice Matthew F. Cooper, the judge overseeing Zappin’s contentious divorce from fellow Columbia Law grad Claire Comfort, a current associate at Weil Gotshal. Earlier this month, Justice Cooper hit Zappin with $10,000 in sanctions for what the judge called a “maelstrom of misconduct.”
