John Oliver Weighs In On The Dumb Facebook Privacy Post

Are you tired of the obviously stupid "Facebook has no right to my private information" post going around? Well, so is John Oliver.

Earlier this week, ATL editor Staci Zaretsky explained — as she had three years earlier — that the Facebook privacy post that manages to go viral every few years and catch a bunch of unsuspecting users defiantly proclaiming that Facebook has no right to their personal information is as useful as a Friendster account in 2015.

One could see this regrettable episode as a failure of the American educational system in loosing people into the world without the most basic understanding of their rights and the rule of law. Or you could troll the idiots who fall for easily debunked pseudo-legalese.

Obviously we chose the latter.

And so did John Oliver, who posted a video on Facebook itself ripping the phenomenon and explaining exactly what one can do to protect their personal information on Facebook. Also you learn some interesting facts about Grease 2.
