Hero Judge Puts Racist In His Place -- Which Is Jail

If only all racists were dealt with this swiftly.

Judge Olu Stevens

Judge Olu Stevens

I think I love Judge Olu Stevens. His bulls**t meter is finely tuned — remember he last made news when he dismissed a jury in the trial of a black man for being too white — and he SHUT DOWN a dipsh*t who called him a racial epithet.

A recent defendant in Judge Stevens’s courtroom, Adam Satterly, learned earlier this week that Judge Stevens takes no guff. Seems Satterly thought it was a grand idea to insult the judge as he was leaving the courtroom.

Word to the wise, Mr. Satterly — in the courtroom, judges are kind of a big deal. Would you expect to insult a king in his castle and get off scot-free? Unlikely. So, if you decide the prudent course of action is to call the judge you are appearing in front of a punk-ass n-word, well. You’d better believe there’ll be some consequences.

Raw Story has the details of what went down after the insult:

“Is there something that you wish to say to me?” the judge asks.

Satterly argues that he had directed the slur at his brother, not the judge.

“No, no, no, I didn’t mean it like that,” the defendant insists.

“Oh, you didn’t mean it like that?” Stevens replies skeptically. “You don’t speak those words in here. And that word particularly, you don’t use that word.”

“I’m going to give you 60 days for having used that word. I’m going to hold you in contempt right now for having done it in this courtroom. It’s disrespectful; don’t ever do it again.”

Boom. 60 days in jail for using the n-word. If only all racists were dealt with this swiftly, maybe there’d finally be an end in site for the Trump campaign.
