— Justice H. Patrick Leis III of the Suffolk County Supreme Court, issuing an oral benchslap to Jeffrey Greene in a frivolous real estate action where Greene was representing himself. Greene filed suit for specific performance when an elderly couple refused to sell him their home after Greene sent them a memorandum of sale which they never signed, along with an unsolicited down payment check. Greene was sanctioned in the amount of $31,490.47. According to tipsters, this is the second time Greene has been sanctioned in this case.
