Anyone remember Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Angela Stokes?

In 2013, the Ohio Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Counsel filed a complaint against her, with allegations detailing her alleged “inability to administer her docket in a timely manner, her lack of organization, and her unreasonable expectation that all court employees be at her beck and call.” The way she abused the lawyers and litigants prompted an inquiry into her mental-health status, and the judicial misconduct complaint lodged against her took years to defend, at a hefty price for taxpayers due to the way she burned through lawyers and firms.

In December, after being embroiled in controversy for years, Stokes — who had been described by tipsters as a “notorious @$$hole” — agreed to retire from the bench and never seek election again in order to resolve the 2013 complaint against her.

What is Stokes up to these days? According to a report from Cleveland.com, she’s currently serving up justice piping hot at a local Chick-fil-A, where she’s now employed:

Stokes, the daughter of the late Congressman Louis Stokes, declined to speak to a cleveland.com reporter Wednesday at the Chick-fil-A on Royalton Road, where Stokes was clearing tables. Stokes did give the reporter her cell phone number.

Stokes, a former 20-year veteran of the bench, in responding to a voicemail message from a Cleveland.com reporter, said she was “doing okay,” but refused to comment about either her work at the fast-food joint or her lengthy legal battle.
