Female Lawyers Continue To Be Paid Less Than Their Male Counterparts

Men who ask are viewed as strong and good negotiators hard workers worthy of consideration for an increase.

— Former ABA President Laurel Bellows, commenting on the latest salary statistics for lawyers released by the U.S. Census Bureau. According to the available data, in 2014, the median pay for women working full-time as lawyers was 77.4 percent of the pay earned by their male counterparts.
