The managing partner of Kenyon & Kenyon reveals his firm may be merging with one that's not having a summer program.

Say so long to your summer associate job?

Because we are discussing mergers, there might be a situation where we don’t have [a summer program]. We wanted to give them as much of a heads up as we could and tell them that we will give you all the help we can… We know other firms that are looking for potential summer clerks and we can revert you to them. It’s not a warning, it’s a notice.

Some have pulled back [their summer programs] and others have canceled entirely.
