Back Of The Pack No More: Biglaw Firm Increases Associate Salaries

This firm isn't at the bottom anymore

Money up and down arrowWay back in the 1990s, Akin Gump was at the very bottom of Biglaw associate compensation. But they aren’t at the bottom anymore. The firm just announced they are moving to the rarified air of MoneyLaw, increasing their associates’ salaries by $20,000-$35,000, depending on class year.

Akin Gump has moved to the full Cravath scale in all U.S. offices as well as in London, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The class of 2016 and summer associates will also be seeing a bigger payday.

Akin

Congratulations Akin Gump, you clearly aren’t the same firm you were in the ’90s.
