Congrats: Lawyers Are The Healthiest Eaters Of All

Guess what? You're eating better than those finance bros.

Girls eating fresh salad for lunchSeamless. After working eight stressful hours on a big deal, and knowing you still have another eight before you can head home, Seamless is the highlight of many a Biglaw associate’s day. The good news is that when lawyers start ordering, they order food that is, relatively, healthy.

The good people at Seamless Corporate Accounts took a look at what customers in several industries actually order with their account when people get a little more health conscious in the warmer months. They compared law firms to the following industries: health (doctors, healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals), media, technology, and finance, and guess what? Lawyers won! According to a Seamless insider:

It turns out that the Law industry is 60% more health conscious than any other industry during the summer months. This means that once the warm weather comes around, lawyers are ordering a lot more kale, salmon, and whole grains than their counterparts in other fields.

That is a pretty healthy margin of victory, well done. And this is how the rest of the industries stack up:

The Health industry is 28% more health conscious than any other industry during the summer months;
The Technology industry is 10% more health conscious than any other industry during the summer months;
The Media industry is 3% less health conscious than any other industry during the summer months;
The Finance industry is 3% less health conscious than any other industry during the summer months.

You always suspected that when you’re waiting for the bankers to review the latest contract draft they’re ordering steak with butter on top. Now you know.

And you all have some peculiar food preferences. Like, you’re really into açaí berries.

But before you sprain a wrist patting yourself on the back, take a look at the methodology. “Healthy orders” were defined as items including the following terms:

salad
whole grain
vegetarian
vegan
gluten free
organic
locally
açaí
quinoa
wrap
kale
chia
wheatgrass
brussels sprout
flaxseed
smoothie
grilled salmon

Listen, wraps aren’t healthy when they are filled with fried chicken. And sure, some smoothies are healthy, but plenty are just a socially acceptable way to have ice cream for lunch.

But still, it is an apples to apples comparison, so kudos. You’re eating better than those finance bros.
