When I got a robocall from my kid’s school on Monday assuring me that the administration was cooperating with the local police in “investigating suspicious clown-themed Instagram posts,” I had no idea what the hell they were talking about. (This was the day before Elie wrote this.) Apparently, I was among the very few remaining Americans unaware of this latest symptom of our national nervous collapse.
Anyway, thanks to Atlas Obscura, here is the interactive map of “creepy clown”-related police incidents we’ve all been waiting for. You’ll note pronounced clown clusters in Oregon, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and obviously, Florida:
