When Will Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Retire?

Is the Notorious RBG planning to give up her seat on the high court any time soon?

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

I will retire when it’s time. And, when is it time? When I can’t do the job full-steam.

— Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in response to a question from Nina Totenberg, NPR’s legal affairs correspondent. Justice Ginsburg had just finished explaining that her plan was to release her autobiography after her biography was finished, since her biographers “would like to have [her] time at the court almost complete before they finish the book.” Justice Ginsburg decided to “flip the order,” indicating that she doesn’t plan to retire any time soon.

An essay based on Justice Ginsburg’s book, “My Own Words,” (affiliate link) appeared this weekend in the New York Times, where she gave some wonderful advice on marriage: “In every good marriage, it helps sometimes to be a little deaf.”
