WNYC and NJ.com are reporting that Bridget Anne Kelly and Bill Baroni have been convicted on all counts in the Bridgegate trial.
Yesterday, we reported that the judge agreed to jury instructions that made it much easier for the jurors to vote to convict. During the trial, we also made the point that Bridget Anne Kelly, at least, seemed to have perfectly set herself up as a fall guy. So this verdict isn’t entirely surprising.
And yet it is. This time four years ago, people were touting Chris Christie as the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination. Now, some of his top people are guilty of abusing their power.
