Life Sciences Law Firm Index: Thought Leadership Category Update

This update recognizes the top firms in the Thought Leadership category of the Life Sciences Law Firm Index.

Life-Sciences-Index-2016-300x203In January 2016, in collaboration with Lake Whillans and our sister site MedCity News, we published the inaugural Life Sciences Law Firm Index to help identify which law firms are the most active and relevant for life science companies.

The goal of the Index is to inform innovators about which firms are the leaders in the multi-faceted interplay between the legal market and the life sciences industry. Life sciences innovators rely on strong legal counsel to protect their interest at every stage of the product life cycle. However, in the case of an unforeseen and unavoidable setback, Lake Whillans is there to step in and help.

The Index was compiled using the criteria that matter most to healthcare innovators. In addition to collecting data in three practice categories — corporate, intellectual property, and regulatory — we also incorporated information on the firms’ work with startup companies, as well as their thought leadership efforts in order to generate the Index scores.

Throughout 2016, we have published updates to the Index, each focusing on a different practice area. Today, we look at Thought Leadership. This list is not a “ranking,” but rather an alphabetical listing of firms awarded a maximum rating for the Thought Leadership component of our Index formula. This incorporated elements such as publication of white papers, contributions to third-party media, and speaking engagements.

The top 10 firms in the Thought Leadership category are:

  • Arnold & Porter
  • Cooley
  • Covington & Burling
  • Fenwick & West
  • Goodwin Procter
  • Mayer Brown
  • McDermott Will & Emery
  • Reed Smith
  • WilmerHale
  • Wilson Sonsini

Congratulations to these firms! Visit the Lake Whillans website for a full update and details.
