— U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Gross — noted for his pleasant demeanor — in an exchange with attorney Mark Kenney, who was arguing exculpation provisions in Nortel’s bankruptcy case. Kenney pointed out Judge Gross’s position on exculpation was an outlier when things started to go south. The confrontation ended with the judge saying, “You’re a wise guy, Mr. Kenney,” and Kenney responding, “I’m a wise man, not a wise guy.” Kenney later apologized in court, but the judge did not appear to accept.
