Airplanes bring out the worst versions of everyone. The small spaces, the inhumane treatment, the smells… ugh, it is just the worst. But you try to be civil. You try to keep it together for the limited time you’re in a confined shared space.
It looks like these two lawyers didn’t get the memo about how to behave in public.
The Daily Mail has a video, filmed aboard a Monarch Airways flight from the United Kingdom to Spain on New Year’s Eve, of two attorneys fighting over an armrest. Yup, an armrest. I can’t even remember the last time I used an armrest on a plane, and yet, I’ve managed to avoid threatening to sue.

Highlights include the lines:
“He just punched me. I’m a lawyer and I will sue you guys if you don’t do anything. He just hit me with his elbow and everyone has seen it.”

Then a bystander can be heard saying: “Everyone’s a lawyer today.”
It’s a good reminder that, despite the recent good press the ACLU has gotten, yes Virginia, everyone hates lawyers.
