Biglaw Firm And Partner Ripped To Shreds On National TV

This is one of the many 'perks' of representing the president in his tax matters.

Morgan Lewis Tax Letter SNL Weekend UpdateA letter released by President Trump’s lawyers claims that the last 10 years of his tax returns do not show any income from Russian sources, “with a few exceptions.” “With a few exceptions” is not a comforting phrase. That’s like hearing, “Don’t worry, all the kids came back from the field trip… with a few exceptions.”

I’d also just like to point out that one of his tax attorneys is named Willie Nelson. I know it’s not this Willie Nelson, who famously didn’t pay his taxes, but still I wouldn’t hire a babysitter whose legal name was Jared Fogle.

— Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost, discussing the now infamous Russian income letter sent by Morgan Lewis partners Sheri Dillon and William Nelson to President Donald Trump, during SNL’s Weekend Update segment. That letter was perhaps another instance of the “comically bad drafting” we’ve come to know from Trump’s cavalcade of attorneys. (If you’re interested, you can watch the clip below.)
