I know you probably know this already, but when Ruth Bader Ginsburg is particularly peeved about a dissent she’s penned, she wears a particular jabot — the decorative lace collar worn with her robe — known as her “dissent jabot.” (She also wore this particular jabot after the election of Donald Trump to register her, ahem, dissent.) In this way, she combines her fashion choices (limited though they may be in the official garb of the justices) with her legal opinions for a powerful statement.
