Our client is a significant regional real estate development entity and collaboration between one of the GCCs leading finance houses and a prominent international real estate company. With significant assets already under management and very strong growth forecast, the US qualified General Counsel now requires a polished, blue-chip real estate attorney to join his team.
The role will be extremely broad but there will be a strong emphasis on corporate real estate matters including land acquisitions and sales, joint ventures and associated commercial agreements and some real estate funds matters. There will also be an interesting diet of real estate finance work negotiating and closing finance transactions, including mortgage loans and mezzanine loans. Responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of legal documents including development, property management and (where there is overflow) leasing agreements and LOIs; confidentiality and non-disclosures, term sheets, MOUs and numerous other ancillary documents.
This is a rare opportunity to join a fast growing company working on some of the most interesting and high profile mixed use developments in the GCC and an excellent chance to work in a highly commercial orientated legal team. To qualify for the position it is essential that you have gained 5 to 9 years’ post admission experience at a top law firm with a strong real estate practice. Significant exposure to corporate real estate transactional matters is a must and some knowledge of real estate funds would be an advantage. A UK, US or other common law qualification is essential. Whilst GCC regional exposure would be helpful, it is not required.
