patent litigation in LA

I want to do patent lit at a high-profile but non-"big 3" firm in LA (I would be lateraling). I don't think I want to go to an IP boutique either. What do people think of Irell, Quinn, or Munger?

Irell is a great IP firm, but I summered there and can tell you that the place is hell. One of my associate friends quit during the summer. 2 of my other 3 associate friends told me they wouldn't be there when my class started. Another friend of mine dated an associate there who aparantly would come home crying at least once a week because he hated the firm so much.

Irell is a horrible place to be.

Quinn's IP department isn't very strong, and the hours are horrific. I've heard similar horrible things about Irell as the above poster. Munger is your best bet out of those three . . . if you can get in the door.

Quinn has a bit of a reputation as a bulldog in litigation. (By "bulldog" I'm not referring to zealous representation of a client, I'm referring to picking fights just to pick fights about little insubstantial things.) I'd go there only if that suits your personality.
