39 - Sorry, I'm just lazy.

Cadwalader was actually the first firm to respond to the bidding, a day after the bloodletting. Out of the 42 available slots, about 20 were still available (you can accept their invitation or decline). I like to believe Cadwalader did it so quickly because they want to gauge people's opinion of the firm after the layoffs.

31 - MoFo cancelled OCI at Brooklyn Law School but for the NY office. It is still doing resume collect (I'm assuming for all offices)

I thought the school's resume collect was a joke but it works. Got a call from a "resume collect" firm to schedule an interview at their office.

Why is Cahill ranked #61 in prestige? It seems like a pretty good place to work. The PPP is impressive for a firm of its size. Anyone else with an opinion on Cahill?

30 - that was the sense I got from my OCI interview. Cahill definitely got a great rep among friends in school and at firms. Really hope my callback turns into an offer.

OCI is a crapshot. Granted, I go to Brooklyn Law School so there are some school snobs out there at firms but I was dinged at quite a number of lower V100 firms ( a mix of V20-100) and got offers from two V10 firms.

I don't buy the socially inept argument at all. It really depends on who your interviewers are.

The tipster does sound an entitled brat though.

Brooklyn does not place well at firms? Check the stats buddy. Go to firms website and see how many partners and associates are from BLS.

I just went through the OCI process and I can tell you that people in the top 15% got offers (even in this hellhole of an economy).

I'm in the top 10% and I will be off to a V10 firm next summer. Plenty of my friends will be doing the same.

"As all of you are aware, the global financial industry is undergoing significant distress. I wanted to update you on the principal role our Firm is playing in multiple crises and events"

LOL. Weil is the culprit!!
Steve should be the one facing Congress, not Dick.

(talk about badly written)

Not a bad OCI season for your truly and most of my friends. Definitely less callbacks and offers all around but I landed offers from some of my top choices, including V10 firms.

There was a big difference for some firms after the Lehman meltdown.

Finally. Pretty accurate ranking...especially the data on the importance of geography.

US News is a joke - just look at the number of Fordham and Brooklyn graduates at the V10.

WTF? How many idiot posters are there? Some idiot posted "goodwin proctor" and everyone believes it despite the fact that the poster spelled the name incorrectly.

I cannot believe these are law students.

Same experience with my property professor at Brooklyn Law. He totally mailed it in because his daughter was a 3L at the school (hello free tuition) and he was going to retire at the end of the year.

He got got through 1/3 of the syllabus and refused to teach anything worthwhile. His exam was his environmental exam from the year before, which some students saw before the exam.

Finally, his curve was ridiculous. People who were getting A's in their other classes got C's and B-'s. People getting C's and B-'s were pulling A. He probably graded by the number of pages.

Am I a little bitter?
Yes but only because every other professor I had at BLS was amazing and excellent. I can't believe the administration continue to let him teach 1L classes despite his piss poor reviews for the last decade.

5 - ROFL at your ignorance. A lot of 2Ls at BLS have multiple offers.

i am still deciding between 3 firms - V10, V20 and a V50 firm. I have a few friends with a similar issue - do you go with prestige or do you go with quality of life?

26 - good one ;-)

But I like my free ride and nice subsidized apartment from BLS. I admit it is not prestigious but I still ended up with the same opportunity as most T14 students with very little debt and a pretty good time in NYC.

Hoping for a speedy recovery. The DOJ needs judge Mukasey.

Good job Eli. People been giving you a lot of cr@p since you started but you really stepped it up the past few days.
