It's almost 10%. But only if you're counting down.
Elie, stick with these posts. It's called a Legal Tabloid for a reason, Johnny Livejournal.
Agree with 10. And where is HYS, and why is HYS sending students to be summer associates? Is this the kind of proofreading you learned while all of you were a year ahead of the guy who is going on Survivor? Deplorable.
Congrats on being first, 1. Just like the judge. Nice work. Dorkus.
No, not saying first. Just pointing out that Elie doesn't review his work. Poll dancing? Really?
This is 2. Nice fix.
Consider this an echo of 4
Love Max Power also.
Your use of commas, however, leaves much to be desired. "...changing your name to or from something, stupid, can be difficult." Ok, you just called your readers stupid. "But luckily for Cinco Florida's name changing laws are straight forward..." Awesome. Now who is Cinco Florida?
Thank you, Elie, for writing an excellent, concise post that is reminiscent of Lat's writing. Nice work.
Wait, Lat wrote this? Never mind.
Except it's "y'all"
Thank you 7. Good lord, you're dumb, Elie.
3, not sure how a firm that went from 80 lawyers to 290 in 2 years qualifies as "everybody...bolting" but you may have more insight into the Virginia bar scene than I do
3, 4 here. Gotcha. Probably so, but that's typical of large expansion. More guys at the table mean different shares of the pie. If you've already got a big piece, that can be bad news. (But if you can make the pie bigger, that's good news.) Don't know much about the Virginia guys, but the NJ and NY guys are stellar.
Pot makes me firsty

There is another issue that is absent from the argument. Larger clients tend to have long-standing relationships with firms. They all say "we hire lawyers not firms", but they're full of it at the top levels. So who's going to do this work? When the big boys retire to the Hamptons, someone has to be there to answer the phone.
ERRONEOUS
All your base are belong to us.
Agree with 5 & 8. May the Fonz be with you.
Couple things. The email did not claim that other teams would "tortiously interfere" with the Portland contract, but rather claimed signing Miles would "tortuously" interfere with Portland. The distinction was clearly lost on Larry Miller, but it is actually even funnier.
Second, you're leaving the toilet that is Rutgers Camden for Barry Law School? Did you get flushed?

43, it's "sleight" of hand.
